Ultimate Frisbee In A Foot Of Snow

Hey there. First personal post in a long time! But this was worth it. Grass Roots Ultimate (GRU) in Boulder, CO has been putting on spring, summer, and fall leagues for a long time. But this year, they started a winter league. And enough people came out for it to have four teams. Having been out with a knee injury for more than a year, I wasn’t even aware that this league was happening, but I was invited to pickup with a team that was down a couple of players. The Evans Family ~ Family Portraits

Meet the Evans family. While I was back in Ohio visiting family and friends for the holidays, this beautiful couple and their two awesome boys invited me into their home to capture a moment in their history. These little guys had so much energy, it was hard to get them to stop for a second to grab a shot of them looking at the camera. I had a blast playing with and getting to know the boys and watching them warm up to me. I hope to get back to the Evans household a little ways down the road to record the growth of this beautiful family. Here are a few shots from the day.

Kristina and Nick ~ Wedding Photos

Meet Kristina and Nick. They were married in December in Youngstown, OH and I had the privilege of photographing their beautiful wedding. We had a typical gray Ohio day, but no rain, so we got out to Mill Creek Park and did some fun shots before heading to the Mahoning Country Club in Girard for the ceremony and reception. Take To The Oars ~ Band Photos

If you’re familiar with the Denver music scene, chances are you know these guys. Denver locals Take To The Oars (formerly known as Vonnegut) are a staple of the Denver scene and have also recently been touring around the country bringing their music to a wider audience. But every good band needs good band photos – and that’s where I come in. I met up with the boys and their manager in December and we rocked out a few shots on a green screen with some analog tape and an old-school typewriter. (I like the green screen as it is rather than using it as a substrate for a fake background.) Then we grabbed a drink and a few more shots at the Cruise Room. Check out a few shots from the day…

Carrie and Chris ~ Boulder Engagement Photos

Meet Carrie and Chris. These two are tying the knot next June and wanted some fall colors for their engagement pictures. We met up on the University of Colorado’s Boulder campus for some really beautiful autumn leaves and then headed downtown for a few urbany shots. I just made up a new word. Mariel and Adam ~ Lonehawk Farm Wedding

Mariel and Adam were married on October 9th at the beautiful Lonehawk Farm north of Boulder. This was my last wedding of the 2011 season and it was quite the party. Alexis and Denny ~ Planet Bluegrass Ranch Wedding in Lyons, CO

Alexis and Denny were married at the beautiful Planet Bluegrass Ranch in Lyons, CO. Here’s a little taste of their awesome day…

The Grounds and Stage at Planet Bluegrass Ranch

The ranch is lined on the north and east sides by the North Saint Vrain River with hundred-foot redstone cliffs as it’s backdrop. The grounds feature lots of big old cottonwoods as well as a few apple trees. This shot shows the stage used for the festivals and its scenic backdrop.
