Katie and John ~ A Wedding in Madison

If you’ve ever flipped through a book of Frank Lloyd Wright’s work, chances are you’ve seen pictures of his First Unitarian Meeting House in Shorewood Hills, WI, a suburb of Madison. Not only were Katie and John married in this beautiful church, but John’s grandfather, Max Gaebler, was a minister of the church, where Wright also attended as a member. Now 91, Max Gaebler serves as minister emeritus and the family was honored to have him in attendance. We enjoyed an absolutely beautiful day on Saturday, June 2nd, first at the historic church, and then at Quivey’s Grove for the reception.

Angela and Jeremy ~ A Lincoln, NE Wedding

A few weeks ago I drove out to Lincoln to shoot Angela and Jeremy’s awesome wedding. They were married in Christ Lutheran Church, which was good because, in classic NE style, it was very hot and very humid. The church was not only air conditioned but also offered some really nice stained glass windows to use as backdrops for some detail shots. We also got downtown and did a few pictures at the Haymarket Train Station, and then had a rockin’ reception at the Hillcrest Country Club. Here’s a little sample of the awesomeness that was Angela and Jeremy’s wedding day…

Wedding Dress And Shoes In Front Of Stained Glass

You can’t tell from the photo, but the dress is hung on a hook that is a good 15 ft up. It’s no surprise that I couldn’t reach it, but even Angela’s brother Adam couldn’t reach it on a chair. Luckily there was a meeting in this room attended by a group of Ugandan refugees. The guy who helped us hang the dress up must have been 6’8″!

Bride And Groom At Haymarket Train Station

Down at the Haymarket Train Station, we did our best to get some good shots without anyone passing out. The heat was intense and the air was thick with some kind of moisture that I’m not familiar with, being a Coloradan.

Bride And Groom Kissing On Train

We got it done as quickly as possible and decided to head into Lazlo’s for some AC and beers! As one of Angela and Jeremy’s favorite pastimes (and mine) it was only fitting that we get some photos of these guys living it up on their wedding day. This is reminiscent of Angela and Jeremy’s engagement photos in Boulder, where we also ended up hitting the bars for a look that was true to their lifestyle :)

Wedding Ceremony At Christ Lutheran Church

After the beautiful ceremony at the church, we headed to the Hillcrest Country Club where we had a line of golf carts waiting for the whole bridal party to drive around the course and take some photos.

The driveway to the country club was long and lined with these great big trees. Had to stop for a few shots here!

Bridal Party Jumping

It’s hard to get 13 people to all jump at the same time, but these guys nailed it. Look Ma, no feet!

Bridal Party In A Tree

I thought about asking everyone if they would get in the tree, but I didn’t even have to. As soon as we stopped here, I had people volunteering to climb up there. This was a really fun wedding party!

Betsy and Joe ~ Snow Mountain Ranch Wedding

Betsy and Joe are hitched! And I had the honor of capturing their beautiful wedding day at the scenic Snow Mountain Ranch near Granby, CO. It’s rustic lodges, old homestead structures, scenic lake, and mountain views helped to make this a memorable and distinctly Colorado wedding. Here’s a little taste of the day Betsy and Joe were married…

Joe played the bagpipes for the guests before the ceremony began. He did a great job! Can you tell why this site is called Columbine Point?

The clouds rolled in and past, dropping only a light sprinkle on us. We had a nice cool day without rain – perfect.

Betsy and Joe had planned to canoe on the lake in advance, but lightning kept them out of the water for a while. Finally, they got the chance and made it happen.
